Hive Tours
We now will offer guided tours of our Apiary facilities to individuals and small groups. To schedule a hive tour, please email dalene@cornerstonehoneybees.com or call 979-220-2790. There are 3 different formats for these hive tours:
Public Hive Tour - $10/person
This is a "show & tell" type of experience which shows the basics of how the bees operate inside a hive. We will show you the bees' food (honey, nectar, & pollen), worker & drone bees (and maybe the queen), and the eggs & larval stage baby bees. We are in the process of building a safe enclosure so that hive tour participants do not need to wear a bee suit.
These are offered on "event weekends" where we can create groups of from 5 to 10 people at a time with each tour beginning at 9am, 11am, & 1pm. No reservations are necessary. Weather dependent, of course.
Private Hive Tour - $75/group
This is similar to the Public Hive Tour, but we will restrict it to just your group of up to 10 people. This provides a "show & tell" type of experience which shows the basics of how the bees operate inside a hive. We will show you the bees food (honey, nectar, & pollen), worker & drone bees (and maybe the queen), and the eggs & larval stage baby bees. We are in the process of building a safe enclosure so that hive tour participants do not need to wear a bee suit.
Beekeeper Experience - $75 (1 or 2 people)
This is a 1:1 in-depth trip to the bee yards. Besides just being a "show & tell", this will be more of a training/teaching experience - where you will be able to hold the frames of bees in a very "hands-on" manner. Do bring your camera so we can get pictures for you to take home with you.
